Wedding Car Rental in Netanya

Netanya is built on kurkar, the soft sandstone ridge that lines Israel's coast, and along most of its seafront the water lies below a tall cliff: promenades on top, sand underneath. Any wedding car rental in Netanya has to work on both levels. The black G63 pulls up on a street above the waterline, and you go down on foot, by the stairs or by the elevator at Sironit beach.
The city was founded in 1929 and named for Nathan Straus, the American co-owner of Macy's. Today a sizable English-speaking community lives here, alongside large communities from France, the former Soviet Union and Ethiopia. Route 2, the coastal highway, splits Netanya lengthwise: the center, the promenades and most hotels lie west of it, and neighborhoods like Kiryat HaSharon lie to the east.

Why couples in Netanya choose the G-Class
The sea, seen from above
Sandstone cliffs follow almost the entire shoreline, and the promenades run along their edge. From the railing you look down on the surf with the horizon behind you. The car stays on the street at your back, so you can shoot it against the sea first and decide later about the sand.
A square that meets the promenade
Independence Square, Netanya's main plaza, was named in 1949 for the country's first Independence Day. The Herzl Street pedestrian mall was laid out beside it in 1985, the link to the promenade came in the 1990s, and a 2012 makeover added a fountain with water screens. The cliff edge is a short walk away.
Dark irises in late winter
In the south of the city, along Ben-Gurion Boulevard, the free Iris Reserve protects the dark iris (Iris atropurpurea), which grows wild only in Israel. It blooms in February and March, from deep purple to nearly black: a late-winter backdrop you can't get in any other month.
02 · Pickup
Pickup on the day in Netanya
Nearly all of Netanya's hotels stand on or near the cliff edge, so many wedding mornings here start in a sea-view suite. Near Independence Square, the Herzl Street mall is closed to cars, and the road that once looped around the square is gone. Agree on a meeting point on a side street with legal stopping, in case the car can't reach the lobby door.
Ir Yamim, the tower neighborhood in the southwest, has a walkway straight to Poleg beach, with Poleg interchange close by. East of Route 2 the picture flips: couples getting ready in Kiryat HaSharon or Neve Itamar who want sea photos first must cross the highway, at an interchange or over Unity Bridge (Gesher HaAhdut).
Typical pickups
- A cliff-top hotel suite, meeting the car on a side street
- A home in Kiryat HaSharon or Neve Itamar, east of Route 2
- An apartment in Ir Yamim, heading south through Poleg interchange
- A February or March wedding with a stop at the Iris Reserve

The promenade and the Sironit beach lift
At Sironit beach an elevator runs down the face of the cliff. The ride is free, the sea opens up as you descend, and there are no stairs to manage in a gown and evening shoes. Shoot with the car up on the promenade street first, then carry on at the water's edge.
Part of the cliff near the lift collapsed in April 2023. Stay on the paths and behind the fences.
- 02
The Iris Reserve and the Reserves Bridge
The Iris Reserve on Ben-Gurion Boulevard has trails, signs and a path down the cliff to the sea. The Reserves Bridge, a 90-meter (295-foot) steel span finished in 2018, links it to Dora Pool, a winter pond, and its long, clean line suits walking shots of the two of you.
Stay on the trails and leave the flowers where they grow.
- 03
Poleg beach and Ir Yamim
In the south the high cliff ends. Ir Yamim, built along the shore from 2006, honors poets and musicians: its streets carry the names of cultural figures, and sculptures stand between the buildings. A walkway leads straight to Poleg beach, so sculpture, park and sand fit into one outing.
Israeli law treats even a stop on the beach as driving there, so the G63 keeps to the asphalt.
- 04
The old sycamore of Umm Khalid
On Binyamin Mintz Street in Neot Herzl, a giant sycamore fig still bears fruit inside a tended garden, where the village of Umm Khalid stood before the town was founded on its land. Thick trunk, spreading branches, black car: calm and green, a world away from the sea.
The car stops on the street, and you walk into the garden.

Where weddings happen around Netanya
- Hebrew Wikipedia notes that most domestic tourism to Netanya's hotels comes from families celebrating simchas: weddings, bar mitzvahs and Shabbat Chatan weekends honoring the groom.
- Venues toward Kfar Yona and Emek Hefer lie along Route 57; for the southern Sharon and the Tel Aviv area, you join Route 2 at Poleg interchange.
05 · The route
Planning the drive in Netanya
Route 2 is the spine of the day. Poleg interchange, the southern gateway, carries Ben-Gurion Boulevard over the highway and reopened after rebuilding in October 2022. In the center, Netanya interchange links Route 2 with Route 57, while Gesher HaShalom interchange and Unity Bridge add crossings between the two halves of the city.
Route 57 runs east about 15 kilometers (9 miles) to Route 6, via Sharon Junction on Route 4. From Poleg, Route 553 heads to Even Yehuda, and Route 531, which starts near Rishpon, connects toward Ra'anana and Kfar Saba.
- Route 2 (Coastal Highway): Poleg, Gesher HaShalom and Netanya interchanges
- Route 57: from Herzl Street via Sharon Junction to Nitzanei Oz
- Route 553: Poleg interchange to Even Yehuda
- Unity Bridge (Gesher HaAhdut): city center to the eastern neighborhoods
06 · Chauffeur or self-drive
A wedding car with a chauffeur in Netanya
In Netanya the hard part isn't the road, it's the gaps between stops: a square and mall closed to cars, a lift down to the sand, and the sea on one side of Route 2 while half the neighborhoods sit on the other. Having a driver covers those gaps, and you're dropped at the end of the promenade. Driving yourselves? Mark legal stopping places near each spot in advance.

09 · Questions
Questions about a wedding in Netanya
Can we drive the G63 onto the beach for a photo?
No, not even for a moment. Israel's 1997 beach-driving law counts stopping and parking as driving, on a strip 100 meters (330 feet) from the high-water line, or across a declared bathing beach. Paved roads and parking lots don't count. In Netanya it comes naturally anyway: the car poses on the cliff top, and you walk down.
When do the irises bloom, and is there an entry fee?
The dark iris flowers in February and March, the first of Israel's royal irises to open, and entry to the reserve is free. Next door, Dora Pool draws waterbirds from October to the end of March. Keep to the trails, and have your photographer check whether a permit is needed.
Our venue is in Emek Hefer or Kfar Yona. Which way out of Netanya?
Take Route 57 east. It starts at Herzl Street, crosses Route 2 at Netanya interchange, meets Route 4 at Sharon Junction about four kilometers on, passes Kfar Yona and reaches Route 6 at Nitzanei Oz. From the south of the city, Poleg interchange and Route 553 east to Route 4 work too.
