Wedding Car Rental in Herzliya

Look at a map and the logic of a wedding car rental in Herzliya is clear. The coastal highway, Route 2, runs the length of the city: Herzliya Pituah and Nof Yam lie west of it, the old center and most homes to the east. Get ready on one side and take sea photos on the other, and you cross the highway at least once, so pick the interchange ahead of time.

The shore runs about seven kilometers (four miles), from Apollonia beach in the north to the gender-separated beach south of the marina, and Herzliya Pituah is home to many embassies and ambassadors' residences. What the coast doesn't offer is parking on the sand: the law keeps vehicles off the beach strip. What follows are the spots and interchanges that shape a G-Wagon wedding car day here.

01 · Herzliya

Why couples in Herzliya choose the G-Class

  • A Crusader fortress over the sea

On a sandstone headland west of Nof Yam stand the remains of a fortress built in 1241 and destroyed in 1265, when the Mamluk sultan Baybars took the town. Beside it lies a first-century Roman villa facing the water. Ancient walls, a cliff and open sea give the pictures real depth.

  • Villas along the sandstone ridge

Between the sea and Route 2, villas and resort hotels line the kurkar ridge. Herzliya Pituah began in 1925 as 'Herzliya C' on sand dunes and is now a district of detached villas where ambassadors live. Quiet streets and light off the sea: a black car fits in without trying.

  • Two highways, one big interchange

Route 2 and the Ayalon Highway cross the city almost side by side, and at its southern edge both reach Glilot interchange, on the border with Tel Aviv and Ramat HaSharon. Fast roads in either direction, then, with one large junction to time your run through.

02 · Pickup

Pickup on the day in Herzliya

West of Route 2, in Herzliya Pituah and Nof Yam, most homes are villas, and hotels face the sea. You cross the highway at Rabin interchange, formerly Shmaryahu, in the north, or at Sira interchange in the south, beside the business district. In a sea-view suite, ask which hotel exit you'll use and where a car may stop.

East of the Ayalon lies the main residential area: the center around Sokolov and Ben-Gurion streets, and the towers of Neve Amirim and Tzameret near Ramat HaSharon. From this side, the way to the sea follows Shivat HaKochavim Boulevard through its interchange and Sira, then Abba Eban Street to the marina.

Typical pickups

  • A villa in Herzliya Pituah, leaving via Rabin or Sira interchange
  • A beachfront hotel suite, with photos at the marina at the south end of the strip
  • Morning photos at Apollonia, which closes in the afternoon, and an evening event
  • A hall in Tel Aviv: Route 2 through Glilot, or the Ayalon

03 · Photos

Photo stops with the car in Herzliya

Public places couples choose for photos, with what to know before you go.
  • 01

    Herzliya Marina breakwater

The marina opened in 1995 and covers about 500 dunams (roughly 125 acres). Its mouth faces north so that sand carried by the currents won't silt it up, with a lighthouse on each side. On the breakwater you walk beside the water: masts on one side, the open Mediterranean on the other.

The grounds are open to the public. The car stands only where it's permitted, and the breakwater is reached on foot.

  • 02

    Apollonia National Park

A sandstone headland with a Crusader fortress, a Roman villa looking out to sea and a Byzantine glass kiln at the entrance. One short trail follows the cliff line, and an easier one crosses the middle. Access is from Wingate Street in Herzliya Pituah, with parking on site.

Under Parks Authority rules, a couple's own wedding photos in the marked areas need no permit, but a drone needs written sign-off from the park's management. The park closes in the late afternoon, earlier in winter and on Fridays, with last entry an hour before closing.

  • 03

Sharon Beach and the De Shalit Square ramp

A busy beach entered from De Shalit Square down a paved, wheelchair-accessible ramp. In a gown and heels that makes a real difference: a continuous path to the sand instead of a slide down a dune. From this entrance the beach widens to the south.

By law no vehicle may drive or park on the sand strip, so the car stays above.

  • 04

    Herzliya Park

A large park by the Seven Stars Mall and the Ayalon, with broad lawns, a lake, an amphitheater and bird-watching points beside a remnant of a winter pond known as the Bassa. Green and open, on the east side of the city, with no need to cross the coastal highway.

Use a designated parking lot and walk in.

04 · Event areas

Where weddings happen around Herzliya

  • In July 2026, Maariv wrote that Israel's luxury events industry was long identified mainly with Tel Aviv, Herzliya and Caesarea.
  • Herzliya Pituah has two hotel areas: the beachfront strip, with the marina at its southern end, and the business district between the marina and Route 2.

05 · The route

Planning the drive in Herzliya

Route 2 runs between the center and Herzliya Pituah, with the Ayalon Highway parallel to it on the east. The Ayalon's main access is Shivat HaKochavim interchange, and right beside it Sira interchange joins Route 2 to the same road. Above Sira, a water tower carries Uri Lifshitz's silhouette of Theodor Herzl, a landmark that's hard to miss.

To the south, both highways meet at Glilot, where Ramat HaSharon, Tel Aviv and Herzliya touch, and Route 2 continues into Tel Aviv as Namir Road. For a Tel Aviv hall, decide in advance: Route 2 through Glilot, or the Ayalon from Shivat HaKochavim.

  • Route 2 (Coastal Highway): Rabin (formerly Shmaryahu) and Sira interchanges
  • Ayalon Highway: Shivat HaKochavim interchange
  • Shivat HaKochavim Boulevard and Abba Eban Street to the marina
  • Glilot interchange at the Tel Aviv line: Routes 2 and 5 and the Ayalon

06 · Chauffeur or self-drive

A wedding car with a chauffeur in Herzliya

In Herzliya, parking is part of the plan: never on the beach strip, in the lot at Apollonia, and only in permitted spots at the marina. With a chauffeur at the wheel, you're dropped by the breakwater or the beach ramp, and the driver finds a place to wait and collects you when the photographer is done. For a Tel Aviv hall, the late Glilot crossing isn't yours either.

09 · Questions

Questions about a wedding in Herzliya

Can we hold the ceremony itself at Apollonia National Park?

Yes, by arrangement. The Parks Authority has an order form for private ceremonies in the Crusader fortress and other plazas. You set the date and spot with the park offices after a preliminary site tour, and the ceremony is limited to one hour. Drones, flowers, confetti and balloons aren't allowed, and hours outside the park's schedule cost extra.

The car stays up top. What's the easiest way onto the sand?

The law bans driving within 100 meters of the high-water line, and that includes stopping and parking; paved roads, parking lots and an operating marina are excluded. At Sharon Beach a paved ramp leads down from De Shalit Square, and Acadia North beach is designated accessible. Photograph the car above, then walk down.

Which interchange connects Herzliya Pituah with the east side?

Two. Rabin interchange, once called Shmaryahu, sits in the north between Herzliya Pituah and Kfar Shmaryahu. Sira interchange, in the south, carries Route 2 over a signal-controlled city road that leads to Shivat HaKochavim Boulevard and the Ayalon. Choose by your neighborhood and the direction of the hall.

Our hall is in Tel Aviv. When should we leave?

That depends on the day, the hour and the hall. Both southbound highways pass through Glilot interchange, whose western part was already carrying about 185,000 vehicles a day back in 2006. Check live traffic just before you leave the photo spot, and keep a margin so you arrive calm.
